Changing My Mind About Everything

A Course in Miracles
Workbook Lessons 1 - 7

So here we are with the mind training of A Course in Miracles, and we’re going to embark on a systematic way for you, right out there in your conceptual identity, to change your mind about who you thought you were.  And you’re going to sit for just a minute with a so-called “advanced teacher.”  And the first question that’s obviously going to arise in this mind training procedure is: “How are you classed as an advanced teacher?”

Certainly an advanced teacher is not one who has studied religiously over a period of some years what the meaning perceptually of A Course In Miracles is.  Just as certainly, any ideas that you have about advancement in the technique of the mind training, that is, to bring about in your mind a transformation of who you thought you were, would qualify you as an advanced teacher.  The manner in which you systematically arrive at new conclusions about yourself is based fundamentally on the realization that there is no world.  That is to say, as you have organized yourself conceptually in your own mind, you actually don’t exist.

If you saw that at the beginning of this mind training series, it offended you, and the reason that it offended you was that fundamentally all of the lessons of this workbook of training your mind to a new way to look at yourself in the manner in which I, as an advanced teacher, see you will cause you concern because it requires the fundamental admission, number one, that everything that you see really doesn’t mean anything; and number two, you have given everything that you see all the meaning that it has and in a very fundamental way you don’t understand anything.

So if you’ve gotten this far with me, and I should say to you that this will be a series of the pertainment at this time and place of your relationship here and now with the offering that I am giving you in regard to an occurrence that did happen.  Okay?  Now, this is what will qualify me as an advanced teacher:  If this is a course in miracles in mind training, you should now begin to have an experience as I begin these lessons, so that perhaps it is possible for you to admit, as we showed you in the beginning of the mind training (remember in the beginning of the mind training?), progress does not go as it does in conceptual accumulative association.  It says here and now that if you’ll look at me and you begin to have an experience, that’s the teaching; and that the practice can go on in your own mind in regard to whether you want to progress to the certainty that I am offering you your own perfection or you would rather remain here and operate on the conceptual idea that there is value in what you see here.

Do you see?  This is what this mind training is.  It must begin with some fundamental admission you, right there, are unhappy with how you see yourself in the terms of your self-identity concerning your relationship with this world and the things that are about you.  This is to train your mind in a systematic way to a new way to look at yourself to present a new you to the world so that the world will see you in a new way in the admission that you are the cause of the world.  Is that all right with you?

Yes, that occurrence there was what we wanted you to see.  Because of the nature of this first video, we’re going to review for you, and for everyone in this world, very rapidly the first fifty lessons.  And we’re going to start at the bottom with Lesson Number 1, Nothing I See Means Anything, and we’re going to go through the first fifty lessons.  If you are accepting the fundamental premise of your capacity at this time and in this place to change your mind, you’re liable to have an experience right in the middle of this scroll.  Watch with me.

Now let’s look quickly at the first fifty lessons of this Course In Miracles. The first seven will be the lessons we intend to do today.

50. I Am Sustained By The Love Of God.

So we’re back, and right in the middle, perhaps with the first fifty lessons, in the Thirties or Forties you hit a lesson that says, God Goes With Me Wherever I go. So that now here we are, back at the beginning. Or perhaps God Is The Mind With Which I Think, or that life is eternal and that this little space and time lasted for just a moment in my mind, with no effect on eternity at all.

It’s very possible for you, having received and accepted the fundamental direction contained within your own conceptual idea, for you to have very rapid experiences of what in so-called evolution is termed a metamorphose of your mind – the basic idea that as you identify yourself is a progressive return from space/time, from the idea of who you were in a quantum, what we call in the Course a “holy instant,’ to the realization of the entirety of who you are.

The problem you’re having with me, okay, and your decision not to listen to me henceforth, which will require you coming back at another time and place in order to listen to me, since this is a required course….  But if I begin with Lesson Number 1, it will become very obvious to you immediately why you reject this teaching, even though you will be in an admission that Lesson Number 1 is true.  Are you ready?  Lesson Number 1 of the Workbook of A Course In Miracles:

 Nothing I See Means Anything.

This world is totally meaningless.  There is no one out there in the world, smiling with me at some time and place in this world, who hasn’t said, “This world doesn’t mean anything.  It is absolutely meaningless.  I can’t make any sense out of it.  Everything that happens to me just uhhhh……” and on and on in the continuing grievance.

You want to see whether you know you’re making progress in this teaching?  Let’s try it this way:  “This world doesn’t mean anything!  I hate it!  I’m losing everything I love….  Holy Mackerel!  The world doesn’t mean anything!  I don’t have to share in a meaningless world, because I got to Lesson Number 2 that said that I’ve given the world all the meaning that it has!”  All right?  “And Lesson Number 3 that says, ‘I don’t understand anything’” because the fact of the matter is you don’t understand anything.

So we have the first three lessons: “Nothing I see means anything.  It’s absolutely futile to be here….  Wait a minute!  I’ve given the world the meaning that it has.  That really doesn’t help me because I don’t understand anything about myself and the world.”  Now you’re ready to take a look at the first three lessons.  Watch and listen.

So let’s begin this mind training now with Lesson Number 1, which says everything I see is meaningless.

LESSON 1

Nothing I See Means Anything.

Nothing I see in this room [on this street, from this window, in this place] means anything.

Now look slowly around you, and practice applying this idea very specifically to whatever you see:

Now look around you and let’s begin immediately to practice what we are going to say:

This table does not mean anything.

This chair does not mean anything.

This hand does not mean anything.

This foot does not mean anything.

This pen does not mean anything.

“This table doesn’t mean anything.  This chair doesn’t mean anything.  This hand that I’m looking at, my hand, means nothing.  My foot doesn’t mean anything.  This pen on the table….  This lesson doesn’t mean anything.”

Then look farther away from your immediate area, and apply the idea to a wider range:

Now, let’s look just a little further out away from us., not immediately here but in a more distant perspective.

That door does not mean anything.

That body does not mean anything.

That lamp does not mean anything.

That sign does not mean anything.

That shadow does not mean anything.

Everything I see is meaningless.

“That door over there doesn’t mean a thing.  This body doesn’t mean anything.  That lamp doesn’t mean anything.  That sign over there, that doesn’t mean anything.  That shadow doesn’t mean anything.”  Here you are, walking around, saying, “Nothing means anything.”

Notice that these statements are not arranged in any

order, and make no allowance for differences in the

kinds of things to which they are applied.

That is the purpose of the exercise.

The statement should merely be applied to

anything you see.

As you practice the idea for the day…

use it totally indiscriminately.

Do not attempt to apply it to everything you see,

for these exercises should not become ritualistic.

Only be sure that nothing you see is specifically

excluded.

One thing is like another as far as the

application of the idea is concerned.

On thing is like another as far as the application of the idea for today is concerned.  The reason for that is, very simply, that nothing you see really means anything.

Now let’s go on to Number 2:

LESSON 2

I Have Given Everything I See

All The Meaning That It Has For Me.

I Have Given Everything I See In This Room [on this street, from this window, in this place] All The Meaning That It Has For Me.

The exercises with this idea are the same as those

for the first one.

Begin with the things that are near you, and apply

the idea to whatever your glance rests on.

Then increase the range outward.  Turn your head so that you include whatever is on either side.

If possible, turn around and apply the idea to what

was behind you.

Remain as indiscriminate as possible in selecting

subjects for its application…

do not concentrate on anything in particular…

and do not attempt to include everything you

see in a given area, or you will introduce strain.

Merely glance easily and fairly quickly around

you, trying to avoid selection by size, brightness,

color, material, or relative importance to you.

Remember you’ve given everything you see all the meaning that it has.  Glance around easily, fairly quickly.  Try to avoid selection by size, brightness, color, material or relative importance to you.

Take the subjects simply as you see them.

Try to apply the exercise with equal ease to a body

or a button, a fly or a floor, an arm or an apple.

Try to apply the exercises with equal ease to a body or a button, a fly or a floor, an arm or an apple.

The sole criterion for applying the idea to

anything is merely that your eyes have

lighted on it.

The sole criterion for applying the idea to everything is merely that your eye has lighted on it.  Make no attempt to include anything particularly, but be sure that nothing is specifically excluded.

Make no attempt to include anything particular,

but be sure that nothing is specifically excluded.

So you have the Lesson Number 2: You have given everything that you see all the meaning that it has.

Now listen.  Lesson Number 3:

LESSON 3

I Do Not Understand Anything I See.

I do not understand anything that I see in this room or on this street or in this window or in this place.  In fact I don’t really understand anything that I see anywhere.

Apply this idea in the same way as the previous ones, without making distinctions of any kind.

Whatever you see becomes a proper subject for applying the idea.

Be sure that you do not question the suitability

of anything for application of the idea.

These are not exercises in judgment.

Anything is suitable if you see it.

These are not exercises in judgment, and anything that you see is suitable.

Some of the things you see may have

emotionally-charged meaning for you.

Some of the things you see may have emotionally charged meaning to you.

Try to lay such feelings aside, and merely use

these things exactly as you would anything else.

The point of the exercises is to help you clear

your mind of all past associations, to see things

exactly as they appear to you now, and to realize

how little you really understand about them.

It is therefore essential that you keep a perfectly

open mind, unhampered by judgment, in

selecting the things to which the idea for the

day is to be applied.

For this purpose one thing is like another,

equally suitable and therefore equally useful.

Just keep an open mind and admit that you do not understand anything that you see.

So I don’t understand anything I see.  In the old Eastern tradition this was known as “divine ignorance.”  And there’s lots of different ways to teach this, but fundamentally, the conceptual mind, anything that doesn’t know who it is, really doesn’t know anything.  And its determination to continue to identify itself within the limitation that it imposes on itself is why you’re here.

So we looked at the idea that I don’t understand anything I see coupled with the idea I’ve given everything all the meaning that it has and my certainty that I’m offering to you that nothing that you see means anything.  And based on what this world appears to be within your own conceptual memory, you have every right to be despondent.

I want to share with you a moment of despondency about the meaninglessness of this little hovel of existence so you can begin to see that contained within you is a bright alternative in a dedication to undergo an experience of transformation.

Looking at Lesson Number 4 now requires that within your own perspective of analyzation you admit that having subtracted yourself momentarily from objective reality, the thoughts in which you participate within your own mind also do not mean anything.  The reason that that takes a little practice is because you are in the habit of finding correspondence within your own conceptual identity based on an objective association with your body form in the illusion of the objectivity of space/time.

So what is this training offering you?  Let’s try it together.  Never mind what your thoughts are.  The only one that can possibly know what your thoughts are is you.  And your attempt to figure out how the world is going to give you value based on your private thoughts is a futile attempt to define through the world how you actually feel about yourself.

The reason we’re getting into the fundamental training is because it’s all you would really have to do with me.  If we complete these first seven lessons of the Course in Miracles, at the end of the continuum of the offering that this video is giving you, you very probably will simply depart the world and never have been here.  That would be what constituted me as an advanced teacher because in the illuminate mind that I experienced through this training of the releases of the defense of my self-identity, that is, my willingness to let God be God and the Eternal Source of Reality represent the entirety of me, is the solution that I’m offering you.

So your thoughts don’t mean anything.  And you’re upset.  Now I’m going to offer you Lesson Number 5, which will really solve almost any problem that you have.  You are a condition of being upset.  Lesson Number 5 says you’re never upset for the reasons that you think you are, very simply because you’re not upset for the reasons that you think you are.  If you’ll begin to examine your own perspective of the relationship you hold with yourself, it will be very obvious to you that you are continually being upset by everything you identify within your own objective association.

Without getting into the details of the necessity for you to begin to practice this Course in Miracles, at some point it will be impossible for you to avoid the idea of the word “forgiveness,” because this fundamental training that you are beginning to experience now will tell you that you have every right to grieve and that the solution is that you are a cause of your own grievance.  But the manner and determination to grieve is not in the specific employment of your mind to justify the moment of grievance that allows you to hold the vengeance motive that keeps you in this time and place.

So Lesson Number 5 says you’re not upset for the reasons that you think.  And in the practice of it, let’s pick out a person.  “I’m upset by what you’re doing to me” will contain many more things in your mind that continue to justify your need to be upset and to seek the revenge that will justify your continuation of the necessity for you to feel the pain and loneliness that heretofore constituted your idea about yourself.

And all of a sudden here I am with you, and we’re getting thousands of calls from around the world, saying that “There I was.  I began to practice this. There I was, out in the world.  I was dealing with an impossible situation, and suddenly the very simple lesson came to me that this is really not what I was upset about.”  This can be very valuable to you because the fact of the matter is everything virtually upsets you.  You then find the solution but remain in the necessity to justify yourself without a Creative Source.  The simple fact of the training, or the declarations of the Text of this Course in Miracles, coming from the certainty of my mind, is that this world in fact lasted but for a moment in your mind and is actually over and gone and based on your necessity to retain it and justify it in an organizational procedure within space/time.  That is, to locate yourself somewhere and defend your self-identity will upset you.  It cannot not because everything the world does seems to upset you.

Why are you upset?  Here’s a big step for you, if you can take this step with me in what we would call “virtual reality.”  You are upset….  You ready there?  You looking at me?  You’re upset because you see something that’s not there.  It literally, within what you would call your “light form frame of reference.” being a product of the projection of your own mind in association with yourself, is actually not there.

Your need to hold it in a determination of the solution that you have found in your relationship of the drama of the story that you tell yourself is absolutely meaningless.  All of your fear is your necessity to hold your images together.  Not only do you hold them together, but you separate one from another and give one particular body image a reality which must disappoint you in your own relationship with yourself because in truth it is a reflection of your own mind, and it is going to upset you.

And I’m getting excited because you might have seen it.  Look at me.  Okay?  When you began to look at me, I upset you instantly because you tried to understand what in hell an advanced teacher would be doing.  When I begin initially simply by denying your conceptual self entirely, if you’ve managed to stay with me long enough to admit to the possibility that you could actually change your mind about yourself (that’s called a miracle) you’re going to start to be very happy.  Because why?  This is A Course In Miracles.  It’s a required course.

There’s no way you can avoid finding the solution to the problem that apparently besets you because in a very fundamental what you would call “singular idea” all problems have solutions.  And if I can get you to see right now with my mind, and through my mind, and through the energy of the love that I’m feeling for you, that you have one single problem – and that’s separation from Eternal Life – and you have one single solution – admitting that you’re whole and perfect as you were created and utilizing the faculties of the power of your own concepts – you can literally choose to leave this world.

Of course you’re upset, and you’re upset because you see something is not there.  And as I offer this to you from the certainty of my whole mind I represent to you a transformation of your image association with yourself.  There’s a very fundamental teaching in the religious idea of my savior Jesus Christ, who said very simply, “I will represent your own whole Self until you come to know your own whole Self.”  So as a body, you represented an aggregation of time based on the retention of separation.  As a perfect body in the moment (let’s use resurrection for a moment) of the re-association of the molecular forms of your light association, you will in that instant be a vision of the entirety of your Self.

So remember what we said?  Here’s this old guy who you are holding in the perspective of your own consciousness who dares to offer you the entirety of the solution not based on this world at all.  All advanced teachers in the idea of leaving time recognize the unreality of this world, because the recognition of the unreality of this world will be the recognition of the impossibility of death.

And I jumped ahead to the idea that there is no death so that you could recognize that I’m offering you in this time and in this place and on this video the instant possibility of you simply reversing the procedure that has led you into this idea of slow time.  And you will see instantly the certainty of the unreality of this world.

So let’s look together, we’ll take just a moment now and we’ve talked about them, let’s look at Lessons 4, 5 and 6 of the Workbook of this Course In Miracles.  Watch:

Now we’re at Lesson Number 4 and we’re going to begin to practice that These thoughts do not mean anything.  They are like the things that I see in this room.

LESSON 4

These Thoughts Do Not Mean Anything.

Unlike the preceding ones, these exercises do not

begin with the idea for the day.

In these practice periods, begin with noting the

thoughts that are crossing your mind for about a

minute.  Then apply the idea to them.

In these practice periods, begin with noting the thoughts that are crossing your mind for about a minute.  Then apply the idea to them, the idea that “These thoughts do not mean anything.”

If you are already aware of unhappy thoughts…

use them as subjects for the idea.

Do not, however, select only the thoughts you think are "bad."

You will find, if you train yourself to look at

your thoughts, that they represent such a

mixture that, in a sense, none of them can be

called "good" or "bad."

This is why they do not mean anything.

In selecting the subjects for the application of

today's idea, the usual specificity is required.

Do not be afraid to use "good" thoughts as well

as "bad."  None of them represents your real

thoughts, which are being covered up by them.

The "good" ones are but shadows of what lies

beyond, and shadows make sight difficult.

The "bad" ones are blocks to sight, and make

seeing impossible.  You do not want either.

This is a major exercise, and will be repeated

from time to time in somewhat different form.

The aim here is to train you in the first steps

toward the goal of separating the meaningless

from the meaningful.

It is a first attempt in the long-range purpose of

learning to see the meaningless as outside you,

and the meaningful within.

It is also the beginning of training your mind to

recognize what is the same and what is different.

In using your thoughts for application of the idea

for today, identify each thought by the central

figure or event it contains; for example:

This thought about ______ does not mean anything.

It is like the things I see in this room…

and everything else around me.

In using your thoughts for application of the idea for today, identify each thought by the central figure or event it contains; for example:  “The thought I have about whatever it is does not mean anything.  It is like the things that I see in this room, and they are meaningless.”

You can also use the idea for a particular thought

that you recognize as harmful.

This practice is useful, but is not a substitute for

the more random procedures to be followed for the

exercises.

Do not, however, examine your mind for more than

a minute or so.  You are too inexperienced as yet to

avoid a tendency to become pointlessly

preoccupied.

Further, since these exercises are the first of their

kind, you may find the suspension of judgment in

connection with thoughts particularly difficult.

Further, since these exercises are the first of their kind, you may find the suspension of judgement in connection with thoughts rather difficult.  Don’t be concerned about it.  We’ll be back to look at it later on.

Do not be concerned about this.

We will return to them later.

Let’s move on to Lesson Number 5 now, that will give you a whole new idea about yourself.

LESSON 5

I Am Never Upset For The Reason I Think.

This idea, like the preceding one, can be used

with any person, situation or event you think

is causing you pain.

I am never upset for the reason that I think.  This idea, like the preceding one, can be used with any person, any situation or event that you think is causing you pain.

Apply it specifically to whatever you believe is

the cause of your upset, using the description of

the feeling in whatever term seems accurate to

you.

The upset may seem to be fear, worry,

depression, anxiety, anger, hatred, jealousy

or any number of forms, all of which will be

perceived as different.  This is not true.

However, until you learn that form does not

matter, each form becomes a proper subject for

the exercises for the day.  Applying the same idea

to each of them separately is the first step in

ultimately recognizing they are all the same.

Apply the same idea to each of them separately.  This is the first step in ultimately recognizing that they are all the same.

When using the idea for today for a specific

perceived cause of an upset in any form, use both

the name of the form in which you see the upset,

and the cause which you ascribe to it.

For example…

I am not angry at _______ for the reason I think.

I am not afraid of ______ for the reason I think.

“I am not really angry at ‘so and so’ or ‘this incident’ for the reason that I think”  “I am not really afraid of what’s going on here for the reason that I think.”

But again, this should not be substituted for

practice periods in which you first search your

mind for "sources" of upset in which you believe,

and forms of upset which you think result.

In these exercises, more than in the preceding ones,

you may find it hard to be indiscriminate, and to

avoid giving greater weight to some subjects than

to others.

It might help to precede the exercises with the

Statement…

There are no small upsets.

They are all equally disturbing to my peace

of mind.

It might help to precede the exercise with a statement like this:  “There are no small upsets.  They are all equally disturbing to my peace of mind.”

Then examine your mind for whatever is

distressing you, regardless of how much or how

little you think it is doing so.

You may also find yourself less willing to apply

today's idea to some perceived sources of upset

than to others.  If this occurs, think first of this…

I cannot keep this form of upset and let the

others go.  For the purposes of these exercises,

then, I will regard them all as the same.

I cannot keep this form of upset and let the others go.  For the purpose of these exercises, then, I will regard all of my upsets as the same.

This will also apply to things that you seem to be worried about.

Further examples are…

I am not worried about _______ for the reason

I think.

I am not depressed about _______ for the

reason I think.

Try: “I am not worried about this for the reasons that I think.”  Or “I am not distressed about this for the reasons that seem to be causing my distress.”

The lesson then is to remember that “I am never upset for the reasons that I think.”

We’re moving on now to Lesson Number 6, which says in truth and in certainty:

LESSON 6

I Am Upset Because I See Something That Is Not There.

The exercises with this idea are very similar to the

preceding ones.

Again, it is necessary to name both the form of

upset, anger… fear… worry… depression and so on

and the perceived source very specifically for any

application of the idea.

Again, it is necessary to name both the form of the upset – why you’re angry, why you’re fearful, what you’re worried about, what you’re depressed about – and the perceived source very specifically for any application of the idea.

For example…

I am angry at _______ because I see something

that is not there.

I am worried about _______ because I see something that is not there.

“I am very angry at so and so or this situation because I see something that is not there.  I am worried about the situation I find myself in because I see something that’s actually not there at all.”

Today's idea is useful for application to anything

that seems to upset you, and can profitably be used

throughout the day for that purpose.

However, the three or four practice periods which

are required should be preceded by a minute or so

of mind searching, as before, and the application of

the idea to each upsetting thought uncovered in the search.

Again, if you resist applying the idea to some

upsetting thoughts more than to others, remind

yourself of the two cautions stated in the previous

lesson…

There are no small upsets.  They are all equally

disturbing to my peace of mind.

And add:

I cannot keep this form of upset and let the

others go.

For the purposes of these exercises, then,

I will regard them all as the same.

“For the purposes of these exercises, then, I will regard them all as the same because nothing is actually happening here and now at all, and I am upset because I see something that is not there.”

When I offer you the entirety of the solution and you begin to have the experience that I know many of you are having, it’s a very joyous happening for me because it’s literally impossible that we don’t know each other in all of the associations that have ever happened in this world since the beginning of time.  And while that may require a self-examination of you in regard to the outcome that you want in the procedural admission of your own self-identity, I can give you this guarantee from my mind that the self, that perceptual self that you identify as being objective in this body and walking around in this place of space/time, is an illusion.  And it’s an illusion because it has no source of reality.  Once more: There is one Totality of Existent Life Eternal That is represented by a Single Source of Which you are a whole part.

This idea of separation in space/time demonstrates your capacity to utilize the power of your own mind based on the illusion of the thought forms that are particulars within your own historic reference of yourself and in fact the entire history of this world in order to repeat again and again, over and over again, your need to justify the objective reality that you appear to be a part of.  The result of it is death.

You know that the result of you, right there, watching this video, is that you’re going to get old and you’re going to get sick and you’re going to die, or you’re going to suddenly be struck down, or you’re going to be attacked and you’re going to be hurt and that you are vulnerable.  And you are vulnerable because the manner in which you retain a construction of attack and defense in your own mind allows you to hold on to the grievance or the upsetness that justifies the idea that this would be life.

You listen to me carefully now because I’m talking directly to you in your own mind.  I’m offering you an alternative of who you really are that you know very well.  And in this mind training, or through the auspices of the teaching of our savior Jesus Christ, it would be impossible that you would not have to admit conceptually that we are an association of the separation of ourselves from the Single Source.

I’m certain within my own mind that you are perfect and whole as God created you.  And I am with you now, in this moment, at this time, offering you that certainty within your conceptual mind as an alternative to what you thought you were.  And I know of certain that at this time and in this place you accepted it from me as the message you wanted to hear as an alternative to the grievances and pain and death that you experience.  You did hear it, and we did depart this world.

So the idea that you would be upset is very valuable to you at this time.  Now, the idea that there is no solution to the problem as it pertains to your self-identity is now beginning to excite you because you’re having an experience of an alternative through the practice even of these first seven lessons if you’re with me, and certainly, as you viewed how we’re going to take these first fifty days and offer you the complete alternative, that this message from out of time offering you a mind training in the changing of your mind must and did work.

So the joy that I hope you’re experiencing with me now will be the joy of the realization that in this time and in this place I could offer you the light….  And these are the lesson that are going to proceed from here – aren’t they? – that there’s a light of the power of Love that is available to you in momentary exchanges of the certainty that we come from a common Source.

If you pursue the videos that we have done, Video Number 2 is going to talk about the idea that you’re a time traveler.  And the reason it’s going to talk about the idea that you’re a time traveler is the simple fact of the matter that in your conceptual association with me everything that you see is actually always over and gone.  Did you know that?  When you’re looking at me right now, wherever you are, all of the organizations of your own mind are only memories of your idea about yourself.  In a particular sense no conceptual human is ever actually here and now.  So that Video Number 2 is going to talk about time travel.  And I hope you’ll watch it.  And Video Number 3 is going to talk about the idea of quantum reality, which says very simply that through this training you can realize an instant where the cause and the effect of you that held you in sequential time collapses and you have a miracle.  You have a moment of the realization that this world was over and gone a long time ago.

So that leads us to the final lesson in this particular effort to persuade you to begin to pursue mind training.  And it’s Lesson Number 7, and it says, I see only the past.  I want it to be of particular interest to you because of the vital nature of the conceptual idea that in fact you are seeing only the past.  And Lesson Number 7 is going to appear as you proceed.  And perhaps you’ve seen some of the other videos.  Lesson Number 7 will be repeated on all of the mind training videos through 50 just as a reminder to you that everything you see is actually over and gone.  And for many of you that has now become a very happy experience because it allows you to see the here and now.

Let’s watch Number 7 together.

LESSON 7

I See Only The Past.

This idea is particularly difficult to believe at first.

Yet it is the rationale for all of the preceding ones.

Yet it is the rationale for all of the first six lessons that we practiced and is the beginning point to a step out of time.

I See Only The Past.

tIt is the reason why nothing that you see means

anything.

tIt is the reason why you have given everything

you see all the meaning that it has for you.

It is    the reason why you have given everything you see all the meaning that it has.

tIt is the reason why you do not understand

anything you see.

tIt is the reason why your thoughts do not mean

anything, and why they are like the things you see,

It is the reason why your thoughts do not mean anything, and why they are like the things that you see, as meaningless as are you.

tIt is the reason why you are never upset for the

reason you think.

tIt is the reason why you are upset because you

see something that is not there.

All because you see only the past.

Old ideas about time are very difficult to change,

because everything you believe is rooted in time,

and depends on your not learning these new

ideas about it.
