Awakening - A New Heaven and A New Earth
Everyone comes
to a point in their life when everything seems meaningless
and incomprehensible. You will say "this is madness, I can't
take it anymore." And you will have to ask, "Why me, is this
what life is?" Is life struggling and fighting then losing
all that I thought I was supposed to get in order to be
happy? I simply can not live with myself any longer!
If you haven't reached this point of realization yet, you
will.
This questioning
is the beginning of a spiritual awakening. This is
the profound moment described by Eckhart Tolle in “The
Power of Now” and “A New Earth – Awakening to
Your Life’s Purpose,” and also by Jesus in our manual
for awakening called “A Course in Miracles.”
For me, I was 36, I was successful. I had a college degree,
a government job with seniority, a pretty wife, 2 kids, 2
cars, nice house on the hill, a dog, and a cat. I was living
the American dream.
Over night all was gone. Some
call it mid-life crisis, some call it divorce, some call it
boredom, some call it the 7-year itch, some call it drugs,
some call it alcoholism, some call it death of a loved one,
no matter what you call it, it will strike. If not sooner
then later, on your deathbed. You will be asked to give up
everything you valued in this world. How you accept this
isn't the question, WHEN is the question? Pray that it will
be sooner than later.
I am grateful that for me, I was 36. For 10 more years I
questioned. Who am I, what am I doing here, why am I here?
This journey took me though EST motivational
training, counseling, Zen meditation, prayer, new age, and
all the books on personal enlightenment. I was feeling a
little better. But all this time I was getting older and
closer to that devastation that occurred to me at 36. I
could feel it, always in the back of my mind. Anything I did
would not solve my problem. Nothing would save me from
myself. Nothing gave me peace. It is at this point of
desperation, total hopelessness, I asked for help. Help came
from a place that I had no idea existed. It's called a
Miracle.
A small group of friends were reading a book by Jesus called
A Course in Miracles. My tired mind and body found
rest. It is absolutely the most concise, practical, message
of spiritual awakening to reality that has ever come to this
old world. This is the real New World. A New Heaven
and a New Earth, just as Eckhart Tolle describes and Jesus
promised. I am saved. This life has purpose. I have purpose.
There is nothing else for me to do but fulfill my function
and purpose.
In truth there is nothing to do. In truth you have been
saved and can give up whatever struggles you have going on.
The only requirement is to want Heaven in place of what you
have now. What you have now will lead you nowhere.
”A Course in Miracles” is a mind training program designed
to train your mind to see a totally New World, different in
every way than the old world you see now. Literally you will
experience a New Heaven and a New Earth. You will find
inner peace, miracles, healing and physical
transformation. Your will experience a continual awareness
of divine Presence. Once you begin to practice, you will be
eternally grateful, as I am.
